Date: 12 July 2025 (NAIDOC Week)
In celebrating 50years of NADIOC we are conducting our Bush Tucker Class during the NADIOC Week on Saturday 12 July. Come and celebrate with us the foods of our first chefs and cooks of our lands. We are proud to grow and rejuvenate our land at Kooroomba Gully and re-introduce plant species that are native to this land. You will learn about these plants and their culinary uses. Try Emu meat from a local emu farm and discover its taste along with wonderful bush tucker plants, seafood and cooking techniques. If you can’t make this class, we have a second one on Saturday 20 September.
The food is modern Australian inspired by bush foods. Be tempted by locally sourced produce from the Scenic Rim, featuring plenty of bush tucker ingredients: kangaroo, emu, bush tomato, macadamia, salt bush, lemon myrtle, wattle seed, barramundi, prawns, finger lime, and more.
